The Story :
The Orange tree is a fruit shrub found in hot and sunny regions, fearing the cold and harsh winters. Originally from Southeast Asia, it can reach a height of 10 metres. Its leaves are green, lanceolate and it is adorned with beautiful small white flowers during its flowering. Cultivated, it seems that it is originally a cross between the sour orange and mandarin trees.
Its name is derived from the Arabic “naranj” and the Spanish “naranja”, which at the time meant the bitter orange. The fruit of the orange tree was for a long time a luxury food before becoming very widely consumed and much more known nowadays.
In many European manors, castles and royal courts, there is a building called an “Orangery”, which was used to store citrus trees in winter and which testifies to the enthusiasm for them at that time.
The Plant :
The wild orange tree is a 5 to 10 meter tree with white flowers and a subtle scent, originating from the Himalayas to southern China. We have selected sweet orange extracts from Brazil and Mexico to combine them into a superior quality oil. This essential oil of Sweet Orange gives off a sweet, warm, acidulous and fruity fragrance.
- Calming and relaxing
- Diluted in a Vegetable Oil, it is a skin stimulant.
In infusion: For its calming and relaxing properties. It also has detoxifying and rebalancing properties.
To do this, mix 3 to 4 drops in a litre of warm, non-boiling water. Indeed, water that is too hot tends to evaporate the essential oil too quickly and could also degrade the essential oil and its components, making it less effective. It is important to dilute the essential oil in honey or on a sugar cube which you will then add in warm water, in order to unify the mixture. Once your preparation is done, you can enjoy your tea for a moment of relaxation, at any time of the day.
Atmospheric diffusion: To clean and purify the atmosphere of your home, but also to create a fruity atmosphere and thus perfume a room.
Depending on the diffusers and the size of the room, pour between 5 and 30 drops, and allow 30 minutes for a large room and about 15 minutes for a bedroom. In all cases, comply with the instructions for the device used.
In cosmetics: In particular, it soothes problem skin and dermatoses, also beneficial in massage, masks and in the composition of homemade shower cream or gel.
Sweet Orange essential oil is used very diluted in a rich vegetable oil to provide a soothing and relaxing massage. To diffuse in the bedroom before going to bed, make the following mixture: 20 drops of sweet orange essential oil, 10 drops of fine Lavender and 10 drops of Ravensara aromatica. You can also put a few drops of the mixture in a little vegetable oil to gently massage the solar plexus.
